de Havilland Mosquito TT Mk39 of the British Royal Navy
The Mosquito TT Mk39 is probably the only ugly Mosquito. The TT Mk 39 was a target tug converted from B XVI which was a bomber variant with a pressure cabin. The aircraft had a modified bomb bay capable of holding 1 x 4,000lb bomb.
The conversion allowed the carriage of 4 crew, the extra crew were one to observe through the forward glazed nose and one to control the towed target from the glazed fairing in the rear fuselage.
PF482 was serving with 728 Squadron Fleet Air Arm (FAA) of the Royal Navy (RN) from RNAS HAl Far in Malta. PF482 crashed in the sea on 24th May 1951 after the crew reported severe rudder flutter. The crew survived the ditching.

The drawing is part of an infographic on the mosquito that will be available at https://www.cockpitrevolution.com
